Access Control
Your electric gate system/ gate automation system can be controlled in any number or ways. Below are descriptions of the various ways you can gain access to your property.
Coded-Entry Keypad

GalwayGates.com only use FAAC and ACT keypads. These keypads have market dominance due to they’re robust and durable construction. These keypads can activate the electric gate system by simply entering a four digit code. This code is known only by the owner of the premises and can be passed on to family members/friends.
Ground Loop detection device

At GalwayGates.com we use only FAAC Ground loop systems. Ground loops are placed inside the gates of the premises just a few inches beneath the tarmac. When a vehicle passes over the systems magnetic field it becomes distorted and the iron gates open. It is a great way of controlling egress from your premises as no buttons need to be pressed and you don’t have to worry about forgetting to press an open switch for visitors wishing to leave. Ground loops can also be placed outside the entrance for vehicles entering. Usually a switch would be placed inside the premises to switch off the ground loop when needed.
GSM Dial-to-open

This is a very clever device which assigns a mobile phone number to the entrance. When this number is called from another phone the unit activates a switch which opens the Iron Gates. These units can be fitted to any existing electric gate system.
Proximity Cards

Proximity cards are cards which can be swiped past a receiver pad in order to gain access to your premises. Proximity cards are very popular in apartment blocks or building with multi person occupancy. Some coded entry keypads have proximity card readers built in giving the option of proximity card or coded entry.
Fingerprint Recognition

Specialised fingerprint readers are also available as a means of access. These units give ultimate control of who enters your premises and also has the capability of logging who the person was and when that person entered the premises.
Key fob Remote

Key fob remotes come as standard with any electric gate system from GalwayGates.com. Placed on your key ring these remotes will open your electric gate system from fifty meters away.
Intercom Access

A very popular form of access control intercoms give you direct communication with the person wishing to gain access to the property. A simple and sleek intercom unit is placed on the pillar of the entrance and a telephone handset is placed inside the premises. When a pushbutton on the intercom unit is pressed, the telephone handset rings and the proprietor has the option on activating/opening the gates by pressing the open switch on the handset base.
GalwayGates.com use only Comelit intercoms which have been the most popular intercoms used throughout Europe due to their high quality and durable build. Intercoms can come in both audio and audio visual with both colour and baclk and white models. GSM Intercoms can also be used to call your mobile phone directly from the intercom unit and the person answering the mobile can simply press the # key to open the Iron gates.
